Southwark Public Art

Project date :

Sep - Oct 2021

Statement :

In 2020, Southwark Council launched the Southwark Stands Together Programme, which is a commitment to address the systemic and deep-rooted racial inequalities within the borough. As part of this initiative, the council is revising its public art policy to align with the values of the Southwark Stands Together mission statement.

Throughout the project, open-space conversations were held to ensure that the public's input was taken into consideration regarding the direction of public art in Southwark. As a result, a campaign was created to urge people to participate and have a voice in shaping public art in the borough.
